The 19th Hole

The 19th Hole

This is one of my previous clients, that started a new endeavor and I was lucky enough to join in!

I designed the logo which was then used for the menu and business cards as well!

The clean and simplistic design makes this another one of my favorites!

Marlize Coetzee Cardiac Physiology Services

I met Marlize while studying in Bloemfontein a few years back and when she recently moved to Walvis Bay, we reconnected.
Marlize and her business partner, Mark Grant, started their own business and wanted me to assist them with a logo design.
They are both Clinical Technologists, and were looking for a professional, yet appealing logo. Mark had already designed something by himself, but they wanted something new.

I then used the same image that Mark used in the logo he designed to come up with something new. This is what I ended up with:

Unfortunately, during the registration process, the name had to be changed, as it was incorrectly registered, and Mark's name had to be removed from the logo. I then changed it to:

All was well again, and they asked met to mount the design onto a business card, which looked like this:

As they are both my friends, I was super excited to be part of this process. And the best part is that I will continue to be part of it, no matter where we are. That, to me is the best thing about design: you leave something of yourself with the client. Your fingerprint, a part of your creativity, a part of yourself that will always be there.
Such a privilege!

Purple Fig Cooking School

This was my first actual REAL client. Roelien Esterhuizen started her own cooking school and catering business and asked me to design a logo for this new venture.

Roelien has been friends with my parents for a long time now. Last year, I had the privilege of capturing (photographing) her wedding day which was such a blessing for me, as I got to share in her new beginning.

Now, once again she wanted me to be a part of yet another new beginning in her life. WOW!

I enjoyed playing with the colours and design in this logo because the name in itself already made me excited to get working!

This is what I came up with:

She loved it! I loved it! She then asked me to transform it into a business card which looked like this:

and then to make stickers from it, for her home made products. The stickers looked like this:

Roelien is not only a great chef, but also a great teacher. For more info on her products and business, visit her Facebook page at Purple Fig Cooking School
